Fair Use

I was wondering how the copyright works for the tranceaddict picks.
I made a dream journal (Liquid Dream III) that can play songs at random times in the middle of the night and was hoping to include a few vocal / trance tracks with the download. Although I am only using 5 – 30 second snippets, I know that fair use does not allow for this.
Do I need to get permission from the DJs or do DJs simply like it if you remix / promote their stuff and it is all good?
Thanks! |

you made a dream journal ?
And no , that isn't what encompasses fair use if you plan to make it available to the public.I am quite certain however that no dj or producer will care about your dream journal so go nuts. |

Thanks, I guess that sounds about right. I will keep this on file just in case I ever get in front of a jury: "but someone mad for brad said I could go nuts"! :) |

I really just wanted to know how TA has been able to host mp3's for all these years and if I could do the same. |
