Yes another meaningless popularity contest.

I just think it's funny how this one differs from the DJ MAG one so much.

love Digweed in that top 10... and personally I think Lawler should be higher (esp compared to Seth Troxler, respectively)

polls are silly, but at lease this one has SOME substance...
Intangible
Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler in top 10... I like this list

(ps. get these guys back to toronto SOON!)

oh yeah specially the number 1 choice...Villopusskupospolos!
LiveTime
This list is refreshing in that there isn't just an overload of talentless trance dj's ehhmmm tiesto ehmmm right at the top. This is probably the most accurate pole i've seen in years.

why? just because this poll caters to your taste?

must we argue again about how much of snobbery these polls are?

These polls are more a reflection of the readership that the site/magazine/whatever has, not 'the best in the industry'. The electronic music scene is so vast, and so fragmented that trying to get an all-encompassing view that isn't biased towards a particular market/sub-scene would be impossible.

As Resident Advisor is probably one of my most frequented dance-music sites - the list is 'relevant to my interests'. Nice to see some of my favourites make the list - Donato Dozzy, Cio D'Or/etc.

Even considering the relativity narrow sub-section of the scene that RA Covers - I do think the list covers a decent spread of DJs. You have the stripped-down head of Dozzy, the classic banging-guys like Speedy J, Chris Lebing, old-schoolers like Derrick May, Rob Hood, and the usual suspects like Ricardo and Hawtin, and even a few names that I don't recognize.

Yes, this list is very biased towards the House/Tech-House/Minimal side of things, but so what? it's a reflection of the readership of that site, and the scenes it tends to cater towards. I'm sure some website that caters to Jungle, or Dubstep or Trance would have a very different list - and that's fine.
