Thanks to all that replied so far some of the posts were funny but I doubt I can use this thread now as an appendix to my research as it is full of BOOBIES!!!
Lol but I will take your answers down, any more are welcome I am wading through papers on audio compression, sound on sound articles on dance, and journals on electronic music at the moment but I am still here watching the thread. |

Just so you know as funny as they are answers like

when I said asians , I should of been more specific. I meant Koreans, First Generation American Chinese and Japanese whether they are at home or abroad.
As for the E criteria, lets settle on blue dolphins.

I would try to come up with three but, I don't need to. There is only one criteria necessary for trance production and that is studio head.
How else do you think trance can make people lose their minds (even without ecstasy) at that one perfect moment? Studio head, that's it. When you're sitting in front of your computer or what have you, and you're getting blown by your girlfriend, wife, that girl you met at that party last night who thought it was sooo cool that you made trance, that other chick you nailed at that one party who has a boyfriend she loves for his personality but your is just so much bigger, or that skank from the corner who you pay to come over and do what she does best while you're producing (this is the least desirable option). You sit there improvising, as her lips run up and down your shaft, you find a good melody and roll with it as the orgasm approaches, then at last that bit for the breakdown flows from your fingers and skeet skeet skeet all over her face. This effect is imbued into your music and as such anyone who listens to it will feel that orgasm that is trance.

...is just too open-ended. If this is for academic purposes, you really should read up on how to conduct and interpret surveys. The questions you ask have to be focused and limited to a manageable and finite number of responses in order to be summarized in a manner that provides any comparative relevance. |

I understand your point but this is not 'the' basis for my thesis its some supportive research I have said several times it is just for me to say 10 people said compression and 15 said the four to the floor pattern etc etc.
This question didn't have to be that detailed the following so here are what I have found now vote for x,y,.z a,b,c one will be of course.
All I am hoping for is answers like subtles one. |
