Producing Breakbeat

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for making sweet drumlines for breakbeat/breaktrance. I can create some pretty sweet sounding drumlines and I like them but they seem to be lacking something when I compare them to a Hybrid track (for example). They don't seem layered enough or something. So if anyone has any tips I am all ears.

Mr. Mystery, I hope you have some tips cause I have heard a lot your Outsource drumlines and they sound great.

Well, for controling the flow, 2 things to remember would be:

1. When you want to keep the track flowing, no kicks & snares/claps at the same 1/16, only want you want the beat to "Stop".

2. Try to variate between brakes & beats at the last 4 1/16's...

Good luck man

Okay, what I've learned through trial and error:
1) Lots of variation (short drumfills etc.)
2) Plenty of hihats and other percussion

I usually layer like 5 or 6 different drumlines on top of each other to create that "busy" sound...

Edit:
Sorry, I'm not really good with typing out stuff, but if you feel like chatting about these things then PM me :)

Breaks sux, big time. If you want to mix, trance o even better Hard Trance is way to go, listen to some Dj Dawn mixes and you will know what I am talking about and not that lame BreakBeats.

... First off to show how knowledgable you are... He is producing not mixing.

Second of all just because your dont like breaks your saying they suck and are lame. Who asked for your opinion? If you don't agree with this style of music than why bother posting?

I am not mixing I am producing. When I mix I mix hard trance and I am a huge ass DJ Dawn fan so you don't need inform me of his amazing sets. Just because you don't like breakbeats doesn't me that the tracks are lame. Look at Hybrid, they have done some amazing tracks/remixes and almost all of them are breakbeat. Anyways, thanks for your spew of idiocy...errr your opinion.

Why would you even post a reply like that. It has nothing to do with what I asked. Keep lame ass comments like that to yourself please, they serve no purpose.
