..That's one thing I really hate about forums and why I rarely ever bother wit them anymore. Just too many people popping and always having something negative to say to try and either fit in or make themselves look cool.
I wish I had a filter for my thread.
Or perhaps a burlap sack with a few porcupines inside.

First of all, don't take them seriously. They are just messing with you. You ate into it, so they just did it some more. For example, the DJ Luxor thing is an inside joke with the WCTAers.
In the end, these people are some of the most welcome people around, so don't sweat it. :)

Here is a bit of social advice, whether you use it online or in real life. If you are going to ask to meet up with people (all who don't know you) to go to a club it's probably not best to mention any of this:
