The Snark - Ne Cede Malis by The Snark

Thoughts?

This is very slick stuff. Gorgeous vocal and solid craftsmanship in the atmospheric department. There are a few things I would change were it in my own hands, but nothing worth a mention.

Good job!

Thanks much for the feedback. Very glad that you enjoyed!

You're more than welcome to mention the things you'd change, if you like... you won't hurt my feelings. :)

Cheers!

Beautiful track mate. Despite our 'Dirty Diva's' nasty sound I actualy have made some deep late night house lately, so this is right up my street. Nice to get away from pounding tech house now and again.

The quality and craftsmanship is just about as good as it gets.

The bass oozes, and the synths have a ton of atmosphere and space.
You know, I'd like trance to go in this direction somehow - I've been thinking nabout how one would do it though....

I'll keep an eye out for your future sh1t.

Nice work, very lush atmosphere throughout the track. The whole thing just flew by.

The only thing I missed was some extra element in the track right after the beatless intro ends, the change might be just a tad little too drastic.

Wow, thanks for the kind words. :) I'm glad to hear you say that the "bass oozes"... I spent a lot of time trying to get the bass to sound right on this track (hence my rant in the Producer Studio forum).

It's kinda funny that you mention trance, here. I keep starting with the intent to make deep house, but I keep ending up with these proggy/trancey overtones on accident. :stongue: ah well, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks, Nik. You know, I thought the same thing as you as I was making the track about the part after the beatless intro. I tried adding a few different things but I was never happy with it. I eventually gave up and grew to accept the "minimalist" intro. :stongue:

By the way, this sounds like the kind of track that could use an OrgaNik re-work, especially in the percs department (read: prog breaks remix?) ;)

Cheers for the listen!

You can send the parts my way, but I can't promise I'll get anything finished in a while. I've got a backlog of unfinished remixes and I just started school again, but the proposal is definitely an interesting one...

my nitpick would be the pads panning going on.. a bit exaggerate,,, but the effect is cool!

Well, as nice as your bass is, I wasn't feeling the sharp contrast between the atmospheric intro and the sudden leap into a rather dry surrounding. Though I do enjoy when the atmosphere makes a return and they play together.

I also felt the percussion ran too many laps, eventually becoming quite repetitive. IMO there's lots of room to play around and improve it.

I've listened a few times now, great stuff
