a colleague had the beta. Couldn't tell the difference except for one setting.Pretty sure this will be aimed at people like Robbie that think a plugin will make a difference from zero to hero. I guess we will have to wait. |

Man there was so much hype and drama at gearslutz and kvr over this, it's amazing. I haven't tried it, but when I do I'll probably agree with brad. I have no doubt though, that this won't sell well. It's targeted for the typical gearslutz user and is just that one thing they need nefore they can actually start making music and not collecting gear.
One thing is for sure tough; from the amount of hype this generated, they pretty much spawned a new market for these things. I'm pretty sure we'll see Waves, UAD etc... start doing the same thing next year. |

Couldn't tell the difference how? As in you couldn't tell the difference with or without the plug-in instantiated? So it just sounded like it wasn't doing anything even with the input and/or drive cranked?
I can see plug-ins like this used similarly to UAD's new Studer A800 emulation. Put it on every track and saturate the inputs. As long as this does what it says it does, I can see myself putting this to great use. There's nothing quite like mixing on an SSL desk, and having SSL channel emulation/saturation would be a big step towards that sound, of course, as long as this plug-in actually does that. |

I've got it, it does that AND NEVE, Trident AND API.
I've found it well worth the investment. purchased it together with FG-X |

he was an engineer about 55, and he couldn't tell the difference between all the settings but 1. He also said none of them sounded like the consoles whey were claiming. We were at Stadiumred. He does hate Steven tho and isn't shy to state his opinion about the guy and his hair cut. I honestly didn't get a chance to hear as I was trying to break strings on the grand piano. I don't like hanging around in the control room if there are more than 2 engineers. 1 is enough , 2 is a crowd but 3, me. They never shut up and tend to not have the greatest hygiene. And if one of those is like a junior up and commer trying to show his knowledge, well lets just say its good I don't show up a little tipsy. I once lost it on this engineer , the guy was a douche and didn't know what he was doing and was always saying the word engineer. So far 3 minutes, I talked about my granddad who helped design the fighter planes that pretty much resided over the battle of london. That is an engineer. Oh and there was an audience. It was quite funny but this guy had it coming. I was tired and this guy was so slow like you had to ing paint him a picture of what you wanted. I don't recommend you do this because if the engineer is how you say well known, well you better start digging a ditch.
Actually, if you want a glimpse of my personality, go look up Buddy Rich. I've been compared to him many many times. He was really funny but could be quite the dick. I don't think i'm nearly as bad and I'm actually really nice but I suppose I see the connection. I do have a very short fuse when dealing with monkeys. I mean if everyone is doing their thing, I'm quite agreeable but certain things , with the right amount of not sleeping, will conjure up some epic monologues. |

so here is my question. do you have to insert this plugin before any other plugin on each channel including the sends ? I don't see how slapping an EQ IR or whatever it is on the master bus to be of much use. |

AFAIK both. One on each channel, and one on the master.
@Raphie, where did you get it? And which version? There was an alpha, then a beta I think, then there was drama and now it's still not available. |

purchased the beta introduction offer, working now with v2.5 which works fine for me on Win7 x64 Cubase 5
you use it as an insert on channels and busses, the more you stack the more distinct the effect. some would cuase the effect subbtle others might call it non existent, but if oyu know what to listen for it becomes very appearant. |

if you have time to post an A/B example of something simple like a drum pattern or simple triangle wave. |
