Jordan Suckley is a name that has quickly made people’s tongues wag on the dance scene over the last couple of years. This is why he was snapped up by the almighty PFAgency as their fresh signing in 2009, who also host other huge artists such as Eddie Halliwell and John O’Callaghan.

2010 has already seen Jordan's recent tracks smashing the charts getting in to the top 5 and having A-List DJ support, which clearly shows the popularity of his productions world wide! Jordan has also had releases on heavy weight labels Reset and Armada and has more lined up throughout the rest of the year!
_
Hello Jordan, where do we find you on this fine (well, cold actually) day?
Sat in my studio working on a new single for Reset, drinking too much Coffee & wondering where this year went!
_
You’re going to be joining us at the xmas party on 18th December, what can the folks expect?
Music wise I will be playing a mixture of styles along with some of my new tracks which havent been played out yet! Also all of the Fire it up team are out so its going to be a wild one!!
_
For the sake of those who may not know too much about you, tell us how it all began for you…..
I won a DJ Competition wen I was 18 and the prize was a set at Nation (Cream) in Liverpool. Following that I started playing for Gatecrasher & Godskitchen tours in Wales & Bristol which lead on to Goodgreef showing interest and getting me on at their events. Then in January 2009, the guys at the PFA & Goodgreef office asked me in for a meeting and I wasnt sure what for. They said they liked my technical side of DJing and asked if I would like to come on to the agency, which was fantastic and I was over the moon and still am today! Its been a very crazy two years for me since then! Dream come true!
_
And how did you get involved with the Goodgreef/PFA crew?
Barry from Goodgreef had seen me play at a few events and then asked me to play for his side event at the time called Native, which then lead on to playing for Goodgreef @ Sankeys and various other events for them. Soon after that they got me on board!

You’ve recently delved into the realms of production as well haven’t you,_ Tarzan in particular seemed to go down really well. What’s next in store on the production front?

Yeah I really do enjoy producing! Since I became full time with music my weeks consist of working on music all week and then Djing at the weekends, so I have lots of spare time to spend producing during the week now.
_
I have lots of new tracks on the way and two VERY big remixes coming up, which I have to keep quiet about for the moment I am told. Also I have a new vocal track and various other releases on Spinnin/ Reset lined up for next year! Also possible collabs next year with Ben Gold, Ummet Ozcan & Joint Operations Centre! Busy busy!
_
I’ve seen a few videos of you getting to grips with Traktor as well, what set up are you using?
I really like Traktor & the X1 controller, because I love gadgets & the technical side of Djing and what you can do with it. But I have only used it in clubs a hand full of times, due to the issue of so many wires to plug in and getting in the way of the DJ before/ after. Also its not always easy plugging things in to a mixer after a few shandies ha! :)
_
I still use 3 CDJ's, DJM 800 & EFX 1000 at the moment mainly, although I use Traktor now and then if I dont think it will be an issue at a particular gig!
_
When do you think you’ll start integrating your Traktor set up into your live performances?
I am easing myself in with it because I have seen too many people rush it in to a club and then it keeps cutting out or not working for them properly because they havent learnt the software thoroughly enough. I am in no rush to fully convert my DJ set up just yet anyway, its all a bit of fun at the moment! However, I used it last weekend at my gig and it was great fun! You can do so much more with it than you can on CDJ's!
_
What’s the aim for you right now then? What’s the bigger picture, where do you see yourself heading etc?
I just want to continue playing more of these great gigs and making music enjoying my life! If I could I would DJ every night of the week I would!

In the future, hopefully more festivals & international gigs!
_
Musically I have personally seen you progress through several genres from Hard House to the more ‘bosh’ sound if you like and also some slower stuff earlier in the night now, what would you say is your personal preference?
Well when I first started off Djing my plan of action was to play what ever style of music and take what ever gigs I could to get my name about, which worked well for me at the time. I have always been a trance/ house & techno DJ but I always played a variety to maximise the amount of gigs I had. Obviously I dont play Hard House or anything like that anymore, but was fun at the time! I dont have a favourite style of music it changes every day.. But the main genres are house, trance & tech depending on my set time!
_
You get to tour quite extensively now abroad, what’s been your best overseas experience?
I think my favourite gigs abroad have been either playing closing set @ Judgement Sunday BBC Radio 1 White Party or playing on the big stage @ Electrocity Festival, Poland. Both completely insane gigs!! One of the great things about these big events is that you get to party with all the other DJ's on the line up, which is obviously good to network & develop new friends in the scene.
_
_

And your worst???

I like to take something positive from every gig I do, so dont like to think of any gig as my worst gig. Although the traveling to events can some times be a complete nightmare with delays etc!
_
Tell us a funny story from on tour……..
Well there am some stories I wish I could tell but I would probably get told off haha! Although I had a Bra thrown at me at one gig not long ago, so I put it on and was DJing with this big Bra on for most of my set, although it kept getting in the way as it was quite a big one! :-/
_
What’s the coolest thing you own?
A talking shoe
_
If your house was burning down and you could save 3 things what would they be?
iPhone, Mac and my dignity.
_
Finally, what’s your favourite Christmas song?
This one...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF--...feature=related
_
Always makes me feel very festive at Christmas, manly the 2nd guy in the video.
_
Thanks for the interview see you on the 18th! :)
