Well since your so " Wierded " out by this whole flyer deal i will tell ya, i was booked for CL back in OCtober, then was asked to open For Markus Schulz ( MY FAV ) in my hometown, and Oz kindly understood what i wanted to do and we both agreed i would do Markus Schulz......so hopefully that clears up your problem and you put your dancing sneakers on and come check out the party |
Ok so you're basically sugarcoating the situation. You were booked to play a gig, flyers were printed with your name all over over them, then you decided you don't want to play anymore because you can play a more favorable gig to you. I take it there was no contract with Ozmozis. Geez, promoters beware.
Kotsy was right, I totally agree with Smunky!
Sorry, but that is unacceptable. |

i love that people on msg boards know everything. just like the dekoze thread. lol. hey did ya ever think that if oz did not have a problem with it nor did i that maybe you should not either. just like when he was to play for me and the date overlapped another show and i said no problem.
carry on. |

LOL at it being unacceptable!!!!
Really people.... come on
He lives in Buffalo, is going to be opening up for 1 of his fav. Dj's. Both promoters are ok with it, I say just get over it, and go support both whether your in Toronto or Buffalo or wherever.
It's 2 great parties, and I am sure they will both be huge. |

| Ha people accusing someone involved in the nightlife biz sugarcoating an unsightly situation. If you're uncomfortable with this, I recommend you never listen to another promoter again in your life. |

Being a public message board I am able to voice my opinion. Use your ignore button if you think otherwise. I'm not claiming to know everything, it was spelt out quite clearly by the person involved directly. This is not the same situation as the Deko-ze thread.

So you had his name printed on all your flyers and already promoted it, then turned around and said fine, np, go ahead and play for someone else? I don't know what kind of business you guys are running (you or Oz), but that's a big no-no where I come from.
It seems Angelo has good friends that let him do what he wants, but ask any promoter that doesn't know who he is and they hear of a situation like this, they'd never hire him. Believe me I know, my BF threw his own parties for the better part of 8 years. I assume Toronto is just as a competitive market for DJ's as well, and if a DJ backs out of a gig after a promoter has spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars to promote a DJ then he backs out, I'd be super pissed! We've been around long enough to know that you don't get free promotion from 1 company then turnaround and go play for another one instead.
I understand that it may be his favorite DJ that he's opening for. But it's also a "business". Even if both promoters are ok with it, however I bet that Ozmozis is not as pleased as Factory Nightlife. If I hired someone to work for me, they agreed to it, then decided to work for someone else. I'll be damned if I even considered hiring that person again. |

Sorry we find it so difficult to find the "obviousness" in a single word answer. :p |

hehe yeah I guess it comes from knowing my bf :toocool: I'm sure he could care less who's openning or not openning Schulz (tbh, Schulz is my fave and I could care less, even if this was in Toronto)
but I see what you mean in your agrument though! |

This whole CL show is very complicated from the start and I wont be going into details because its not relevant.
In the beginning of planning the show Oz asked me to ask Angelo if he wanted to open for the show. Angelo said yes obviously.
Once the Markus show came about Angelo contacted Oz and myself to explain the situation and both parties agreed it would be ok for Angelo to open for Factory Nightlife. There was ample time to find a replacement for the show.

Summerlover- I just want to comment on what you said. First, Oz never contracted Angelo to play the gig for Ozmosis, you have to have contracts for everything to cover your butt.
I know Brian from Factory very well and he contacted me first about the situation and then I spoke with everyone else about and there was a mutual agreement throughout the group.
Oh and summerlover theses shows never cost hundreds of dollars by the way.
All in all to this whole situation was handled properly by all parties involved everyone was in agreement. |
