I hear Caribou recorded the entire album on dusty 8-tracks.

T++'s final 12-inch also provided thrills and, in the latter case, a rare 5/5 designation from our reviewing staff.

anyone heard the track they are referring to here, released on Honest Jon's?
Seppuku
No, I really liked Caribou's album, but calling it album of the year is a stretch...

The top albums list is just a round-up of all the expected names in the trendy, borderline hipster electronic scene. If you expect RA to actually have an editorial policy and praise something that the rest of the blogosphere has ignored, you need to pay more attention.

And for what it's worth, FlyLo's album was waaay better than Caribou's.

caribou is an excellent choice for album of the year. really good stuff (imo), dan is amazing live and everyone is remixing tracks off the album.

as far as compilations go, i only have holden's djkicks and ewan's we are proud of our choices. def want to check out apparat's dj kicks, immer 3, fabrics and rest on that list just not enough time or extra cash really.

i would of put ghostly international a bit higher but i prefer their sound more than the others :p

very disappointed by this, was I. But I'm expecting the next album by him to be nice, judging by his remix of Moogwai's track.

John Roberts - "Glass Eights" was by a clear distance the best electronic album I heard this year, truly expected it to get the top spot on the RA Album Poll.

I know your post is meant to be ironic, but I think it's stupid how RA and other "serious" dance music sites completely 100% ignore Trance because it's not cool, even if there might actually be some decent releases

make your own editorial publication then.

what makes you think this is some kind of representative democracy?

Which trance album/comps should have made the cut this year? I'm just curious because I haven't been paying attention.

Work them at #3 and Footcrab at #5? Really? I mean I like them but I think that's a bit overdone, is this juke kinda stuff going to the next big thing or what?

OK - so I went and listened on youtube to a few of the top ones on those lists.......

what a bunch of boring plink plonk e - this music sounds like its taking a trip up its own bung hole.....I thought we were escaping that with the Exit of Progressive House bog standard crap.
