^^ LMAO, well it's actually dru hill - you are everything, but anime music videos are just hilarious.

^^this was made in 1994, pretty good imo. I wouldn't know about EDM before 1998 though.

This is the first song I remember hearing.

From my sisters tapes. My first years are basically music from my sister's youth, she was born in 1970, 19 years before me. I'm glad I had someone whose music to listen to.

Stumbled upon it from a tape my sister recorded for me from MTV when I was 6 or 7, I didn't have access to MTV at the time ofc.

Diving further into this music style, listened to it till I was 17 or 18. When I couldn't tell new rap music from Scooter's latest innovation anymore, I stopped searching for new stuff. I had fun years with it though. I still buy classics occasionally.

theres no such thing as "pre-edm"!

the prodigy, hackney hardcore, acen, baby d, cj bolland, westbam, dune, marusha, moby, cosmic baby, man with no name, capella, dr alban and e-type (sweden ruled at popdance lol), scooter (grin). and of course ravemeister and trancemaster compillations, only loosers didnt have those. listening to it now it comes to my mind that I must have been depressed or ing angry. next i started listening to wu-tang clan and became gangster selling booze before the age of 16 lol. but the prodigy has definitely been the biggest inspiration, i still consider "their law" the most awesome track at all times any genre and music for the jilted generation as the best album of all time, any genre. i went to pianoschool for some time also, played Toccata & Fugue in d minor on a church organ all by head, def fun.

yes there is. Basically this thread is for people over the age of 25 that didn't start listening to dance music when they were 10. It is my thread, you don't like it, start your own, The whole point is to see what non EDM music you spent a long time listening to. Not to show what cool oldschool underground EDM you know about.
Kenny Rogers

1993 , first time I knew how music can grab you

Something that is not edm , must be this

Mad for Brad
I don't care what you post. As long as it isn't EDM which of course excludes stuff like Italian Disco, that nuwave crap and so on. Basically anything that can be called house , techno or trance. Verboten.

ah see you right there. Jam and Spoon is exactly what I don't want to see in this thread. That better be a joke.
