hey guys,
does anyone know how ummet ozcan does his drum/percussion work? if you listen to his remix of skytech - cardboard box, or serendipity (phase ii) he seems to suddenly drop the body of his kick, and just run the top part for 4 bars, and then bring the lower part back. i don't know if it sounds impressive because of the bassline on top, or if it's just a certain noise gate he's adding on it? i'm trying to achieve something similar - where i drop a few bars of low kick every 16, but it just sounds very cheap at the moment.
any help appreciated!
thanks! |

as simple as using a bandpass filter on the kick and using a specific equalization on the kick:
Enhance a bit at 5khz for punch and for the clip release you are looking for possibly at 10khz |

I'm not familiar with Ummet OZcan's work... but I have heard Ummet LBcan and also KGcan. Those sounded heavier, tbh. You may wanna check them out. :tongue3 |
