When you go to this movie, don't expect an incredible film in the way of plot etc...
It's eye and ear candy. Same as Avatar was..
Go in with those expectations and you won't be disappointed... |
^^^ exactly.
Saw it in IMAX 3D and it was sick. Big Daft Punk fan and I loved their cameo + hearing their with that bass is amazing. Some promoter should rip the seats out of that room for a weekend and put in a 48 hour festival. Dear god that basssssss <3 |

Has anyone listened to the Soundtrack (aside from hearing it in the movie).
Would you play it in your car? |

| Maybe a track or two but not really... It's not a disaster without the movie it's just there's better stuff to listen to IMO. |

hell ing no, lol...
i was actually pretty disappointed with the movie on all fronts. Story was an obvious let down, but even the way the movie played out was pretty anti-climatic. There were no epic final battles. I swear this felt more like an hour and a half TV show with no ending than anything else.
Music was pretty meh. Daft Punk do Copy and paste the music from Batman and change a few notes here and there? damn that main theme was so similar to the Batman music.
Effects were alright, but nothing I haven't experienced before. Thanks to this movie the novelty of 3D has worn off for me. Who knew that it would only take 2 movies to do it?
I don't wanna say I don't recommend this movie, but it was pretty uneventful and by this time next week I'll forget it exists. |

Sounds like you didn't see Piranha 3D then. My favorite by far. |

I watched it last night and i was pretty blown away. i really enjoyed it being a computer/gadget geek and all. im into heavy graphics and all i can say was that i was pretty blown away by the digital interfaces and design layouts. having a background in graphic design and architecture i can really get into the whole design of all the digital displays and how the wardrobe and sets were.
the soundtrack was phenomenal and you can really tell a lot of good work was put into in it. not just by daft punk.
ya sure some people didnt enjoy it but those people probably expected it to tbe best movie of the year. i think it was way better than avatar. it wasnt cheesy, there wasnt a kissing scene, there wasnt any chessy lines... okay maybe to the least the daft punk cameo some people may find chesse but whatever it wasnt or anything wasnt over done. it was a good enjoyable movie.
and as stated before, its not some movie scripte we havent seen before, but get off your pedestal and just enjoy the graphics and cool story. it really paid homage to the first.
and another connection i found.... kris van assche did kevin flynns outfits. with the white kimono and robes. he is currently the creative lead at dior homme. amazing! |

Saw it last night and went into the movie with pretty low expectations so I was presently surprised that it didn't totally suck. The worst part of the movie for me was the music. It just seemed like a bassy humming sound for the most part. The only half decent music was during the bar scene....and even that wasn't great.
I liked the way they went from 2D to 3D but felt they could have done more with the 3D. |

I loved it! I admit they could've done much more in terms of plot development having such a fantasy digital realm at their disposal but it was an entertaining flick nonetheless. Maybe it's the geek in me but it totally delivered on the visual front and the musical score. Imax 3d was worth it too |
