Visiting San Franciso - First time visitor needs help

Hi there!
I am going to visit the states for the first time end of january due to a business meeting in Las Vegas. Since Frisco isn't that far away and many of my friends loved the city, I thought might spend a few days after the meeting.
Is there anything particular I should check out?
Any suggestions for cheap and good accommodation?
And especially, are there any good techno parties going on between 28th and 31st january? I am a lot into the iDM sound of WARP, Border Community,... nowadays.

Too bad you didnt post this a week ago, the sir francis drake(heart of union square on powell) had a one day $89 room rate sale.
Check the SF events thread up above this one for gigs.
Venue wise, i'd recommend Ruby Skye they have andy moor on the 28th. For your musical taste, im sure Rizo can recommend some things, he is big into the border community. |

being a broke locale who doesn't get to travel much.. I found this out recently..
that if you're visiting from another country, you can use HOSTEL, and get a room for 20-25USD$ per night.
hope this goes for your cheap accommodation. |
