Curious what trance fans think about this music

First couple songs are from a band called "Isis"... their "genre" is "sludge metal"... anyways I thought it has some similarities to trance so I was curious what some of you---who probably haven't heard of these guys---think of it:

Second band will probably appeal to less people---a bit more "out there"... but if you can get past the vocals (which are very sparse, and hardly any after first few minutes)... I think you'll find some really cool melodies... this album in particular that the song is off of makes me thinks of giant tree covered mountains. Maybe it's just the album cover though :p. It's officially "black metal" but not the usual kind... really fuzzed out guitars and really really repetitive while building up and deconstructing and the production is super unclear so it gives it a kind of "wall of sound" effect. Some amazing melodies IMO and it puts me at least into a "trance" every time .

So ya just curious what people "outside of the scene" think of this stuff...
Best enjoyed with some green of course ;). |

First two, like the Cure ditched Robert Smith and got high, to an obliterated level, on top-secret US Government Research Pot.
Last one, like the 220,503 other people trying to do the same thing using a cracked copy of Pro-Tools and a single-pot recipe batch of meth. |

| I like sludge metal, but I don't see the similarities with trance. |
