| They "deserved" it because they beat everyone to win it, including some very tough teams. That doesn't happen by accident. They were, however, probably the most boring World Cup winners of all time, 1-0ing their way to the title. |

I was supporting them even then because it's become frustrating already! Think about it...
They've reached the finals zillions of times, and they never made it! Ever! I can't think of a single national squad that has choked as much as the Dutch have in the whole history of World Cups - they've got more second places than any other nation that has never won the World Cup! Hell, even if you do include the countries that have already won the trophy, they're second place, only losing to Germany because the Krautz team lost at the final four times out of seven!

They 1-0'd their way to the title because every team they faced were scared less of being thrashed and mounted a ing wall in front of goal. The only team they played that didn't use this strategy was Chile. |
