Focusrite Sapphire 6 - Anyone got any comments?

Hi guys,

Looking into getting a Focusrite Sapphire 6 USB interface.

It looks pretty good and a lot of reviews are very boastful of the device.

I have two concerns though:

1) The sapphire 6 still uses USB 1.1 - Will this be a problem now or in the future?

2) I cannot see anywhere that it makes use of ASIO. I spoke to someone who says it did but I cant see any technical specs to prove that it does. Can someone maybe clarify this situation?

Overall it looks very nice for the money, but I have these two problems that are making it very difficult for me to make my decision!!

Thanks.
Alex
Final Call
I have one and it works wonderfully fine. The only issues i had with it was when i placed my computer into stand by mode and the audio wouldn't register until i went into the control panel and changed the audio back to "Saffire 6 USB"

As for the USB 1.1, i was a bit weary on that as well when i was researching it. At least from what i read, 1.1 won't make such a major different due to the fact that you're not recording more than two inputs so the speed isn't needed.

My current setup has my KRK Rokit6 g2's running through it and an audio technica AT2020 for a mic. Haven't had any issues with it so far and it works fine for what i needed, a basic two input audio interface.

for the price, it's a steal for what it is. build quality is full on metal construction so it doesn't feel cheap. the only thing that does feel cheap would be the dial knobs but that's not much of an issue to me.

i was debating on buying one of the Lexicon's Ionix U42s but then when i played with it in person, it looks bland.

pick it up! can't go wrong with focusrite :)

oh and yes, you can use ASIO with it. The only time when i use ASIO is when i'm recording with my mic.
