one thing, remember London is a huge city.

Central London has the more commercial type of store, like the BIG HMV's and Virgin Megastores, also Tower records (but don't bother with them as they seem to carry only metal crap)

The HMV's at Oxford circus and Piccadilly are very good, both carrying a large stock of trance / house / breaks / DnB vinyls.

The one Miss P mentioned is very good too, but for the stores that specilise u would really need to go further afield than central london, and it involves scouring back streets,
But u could also try carnaby street in soho (not far from oxford circus (all easy access via the subways)), admittedly i not been to carnaby street for a while so i can not gurantee what success u would have there.

It's quite a travel from the centre of London (underground and bus), but it's well worth it!
This guy lives in huge, beautiful appartment next to the Thames and he's got a eload of records. See, it's not actually a store as most people order the vinyls from his website, but you can also make an order and arrange to come pick it up!

Ant and me went there, and he picked us up from the nearest coachstation in his PORSCHE (omg) and we were invited inside the house where we got some tea and he searched for a LOT of extra records for Ant and he could listen to them on the TTs that were in the livingroom....we were amazed :)

Very nice guy..and very lovely (swedish) girlfriend :)

ahhh thats good, thank you very much, both :)
I've only 3 days and i don't think the family wants to travel true big Londen for a record store, so i will have a look in the centre, thanx :)

go to Soho, wander around.
Main one is Plastic Fantastic.
Tag has gone under, probably one of the better ones.
Few Trance releases in HMV oxford circus but no decks 2 lissten to them.
I would say this, despite living 10mins from centre of London I haven't purchased records in a shop for something like 3 years now. Mail order is the way forward. Swift, listen to samples in comfort of your own home, no hassle at all, can pre-order.
