What do you all use for time shifting? I use the "fit to tempo" feature in FL Studio, sometimes it works well, other times not. I time shifted 'I Believe' to around 130 BPM or so, but the vocals weren't timed right. I'm sticking with the original tempo, I already spent hours chopping the vocals up. I'm making a house remix, so that tempo is OK. For the future though, I'd like to be able to pull off the perfect time shift. Some of you guys here seem to be able to do it at will.

Ableton, man. Stick the track in there in original tempo, stick a rudimentary beat/loop or simple kick behind it to make sure everything is lines up correctly at the original tempo. Then reset to the desired tempo (slower or faster), mute the kick and export. Easy as pie.
Ableton = god for remixing and beat matching

I'm doing a mix of I Believe. Like Robby, its a 138bpm trancer. I did start on the breakdown, wrote chords and a melody but got the feeling the melody wasn't working so it's been scrapped. Got a nice beat and bassline going now though so guna build around that with the chords I have.

I'm also starting to work on a remix for I Believe. Both of em should be done soon :)

Awh, that's harsh, your life has just begun!
by the way, considering making changes to the buildup to my track posted above, to have the kick added before the vocals along with some variations to the bass, also considering having a more simple, housey layout of the percs, hihats and snare. what do you guys think?

Thanks for yet another opportunity, one that's incidentally inspired me to finish my remix of "Forever!"
