if you were anything more than an insignificance on these boards you'd realise that we do a chart every month at the start, and we call it by the month that we're in. It doesn't have to be 'new' tunes, just your top 10s every month, on the 1st or whenever.

If you look at my registration date, you will realise that I've been lurking these forums long enough to know that. The way these threads are presented annoy the hell out of me and thus finally provoked a little vexation from my part. Isn't a monthly chart generally supposed to represent the releases of THE MONTH rather than what's on everybodys winamp playlist?
Anyway.

not at all. Why moan at something which has been going on for ages? It's a good source to find out what other people with similar tastes are feeling at the time. If you don't like it, avoid it, there's so many threads these days that it would be easy to moan at every one but why bother?

I don't necessarily think so. Why just stick to the current releases when an older track could (potentially) be more appealing at the time? It's nice to see a mixture of old and new imo. It's also good to be reminded of great music that may have been forgotten about.

most def mate. I know there's maybe 4 people who I look at their charts & find stuff I forgot about or never knew to begin with. Some people for sure will put new and 'upfront' stuff all of the time but to be honest I often continue tracks in my charts for 2-3-4 months or more because I find stuff with lasting values.

True. I also find that those that only put the most current tunes in their chart seem to pick a lot of tracks that get stale quickly and have little lasting appeal, although not always.
