Also, this is what real trance used to sound like:
This amaaaaazzing one gets mentioned very rarely, seems to be forgotten I guess :(

I looked on the front page, and even did a search for you, nothing! I guess you must have forgotten to post. I notice there are no links in your signature either. I suppose we all forget to update those things. Don't we, DJ Pluviose.
Please, DJ Pluviose, help me out here. I'd love to hear some of your work.
the irony meter is red, you failed at stealth and gentleness.
if anyone doesnt mind give it a listen and tell me what you think!
is it commercial? cheese? good? bad?
I used get lost in a trance when listening to these songs.
is it normal to think of "flashbacks at past rave venues" that I been too when I listen to trance? it ALWAYS happens to me I don't know why
so what does Willow & Sunrise sound like to you?
and I'm not a troll nor am I an alt. I apologize if this is the wrong kind of discussion to have
Tiesto's remix of Goldenscan's Sunrise is brilliant, imo. Any of Tijs Verwest work in the last few years prior to 2000, if and when they were released back then, were highly anticipated - and hot cakes sellers they were.
His remake of Willow by Aria is one that blew me away back in 2000 - listen to the breakdown and how technically brilliant he was, playing with the reverberations (okok, a lot of peeps are gonna jump in with Tiesto having a great sound engineer). I still remember that the Aria CD was released before the Willow / Dido remixes on Blackhole recordings that both these remixes were featured. Dancegrooves.com anyone? :)
Back then, AvB was under Blackhole Recordings before he went onto Armind and Armada.
Tiesto would start off his sets with Aria - Dido (AvB Remix) and those were the days.
Pluviose: Flashbacks to certain events that has occured are no different from regular beings experiencing Deja Vu(s). The subconscious mind is so complex, that little results & conclusions can be reached. So in a nutshell, yes - these flashbacks are normal whenever you listen to trance tracks, especially when similar basslines, reverbs, synths are repeatedly sensed by your audible receptors and the coincidences of these sounds visually, will trigger some sort of Deja Vu every now and then.
You are a young lad, romance with chemicals responsibly - i know you are eager to experience. There's a long road ahead, test your stash with testers - keep the good ones, throw away the bad ones - please dont ing re-sell for you can kill someone else with laden-crap.
Trance is a life-changing experience, with or without drugs. There are those who fall in love with chemicals, and others who are infatuated with the alchohol industry. Choose one, don't mix for goodness sake. Both are harmful, both kill brain cells. One induces love & hallucinations. The other leads to stupid acts & violent behaviour. Bottom line: we are fallible beings, stay alive & experience the world. There's more to life than Es, although it all starts with an E to uncover the beauty from within. (beauty hides in the deep by The doppler effect << go listen to this track if you haven't)
One last thing: "Vices like vipers, speak in whispers."

The reason to why so many people rage about threads like these is because most of us have moved from trance a long time ago and listen to other genres, or what we consider "classics". I used to be just like you a few years ago, but you will soon discover (hopefully) that the rabbit hole goes way deeper.
Not everyone moves on. I've been listening to Trance since 1996, and yes I do listen to other genres of electronic music but I have never stopped listening to Trance. It is still my favorite genre.

Hello Trance-MB!
Feeling is a temporary state of mind....
Sometimes I feel aged as work is taking a toll, and when i fail to get more than 20 hours of sleep in a stretch of 7 days.
Other times, I experience a rush of youth when I bounced on the dancefloor without the use of any stimulants longer than any of the youths.
Now at this present minute: I feel stretched out. Need to shuffle those feet of mine really soon. damn those threadmills and gyms....i will take an abandoned warehouse + laserbeams & dynamites + 97-99 trancers + technics 1200s + vinyls anyday...
Coming 33....damn recurring numbers... ;)

+1 and I know many more of my age.
But for some people it's this or that genre. Why not AND?
