I seem to have a better record with popular girls finding me surprisingly attractive than with girls actually in my league.

Oh don't get all Banora on us now with the humility. :o
SYSTEM-J
Do I ever act humble? Besides, girls who get lots of attention from guys rarely actually someone like me, not least because there's a social stigma to dating a guy who writes essays about Robocop when you could be with someone... normal. It's the less attractive but weirder and more interesting girls I wish I could pull.

You should probably wear skinnier jeans then.

Srussell is right.

Somewhat geeky, but still reasonably attractive guys get a LOT more luck if you just do the indie rock look. I'm not saying you have to go full-on ironic hipster, but just looking like you might possibly be in a band helps.

It shows that while you may be geeky, you're still culturally relevant.

Plus, I look a helluva a lot better wearing slim fit jeans and clothes that fit rather than the baggy crap I wore in high school because all I cared about was showing off my "awesome" Dragon Ball Z t-shirts.

Fun fact: Skinny jeans (not the skin tight ones, just normal ones) are actually really comfortable as long as they have like 1% spandex, just buy an inch larger in the waist than normal jeans and wear a belt, you'll have plenty of room in the legs.

Full disclosure: I actually enjoy hipster culture somewhat, so you might just want to ignore everything I say. :P (though I'm much more of a fan of the vintage-style hipster from a few years back than the current "everything has to be ugly and ironic" hipster that seems to be taking over)

Yeah, or, you know, be yourself at all times and be patient. Not complacent, of course, but good things come to those who wait.

ing indie rock look. :stongue: This is why you guys suck.

Well, for me it is being myself. I'm a huge fan of indie rock and stuff like that, and have been for years.

Obviously if it doesn't fit who you are, don't do it. Fashion should be an expression of your personal taste.

I was just joking about the jeans. Definitely don't wear skinny jeans. The hipster look is just...:wtf:. to get the weirder girls you just have to be a bit weird yourself.

I think this has become a "Get System-J a girlfriend" thread.

I would like to point out that when I say "skinny jeans", I'm talking about jeans like this:

NOT the kind that are skin-tight borderline spandex that show your junk.
srussell0018
Those aren't skinny jeans. They're slim-fit straight leg. Duh :o

They're Levi's 511 Skinny. That's the official name, anyway. The slim-straight are a little baggier.

The Levi's 510 super skinny are probably what you think of as "skinny". I would also not recommend those, so I guess we're on the same page.

EDIT: Just for kicks, here's a comparison.

Levi's 511 (what I wear):

Levi's 510 (my balls are scared of these):
