Your thoughts on my short film

Hey guys, I would love to hear your opinions on my short film that i've made. This is my 2nd short film including my student short film from last year.

We spent about $300 for the whole short film, pre-production to completion. We didn't have much money to make the movie to begin with, so we went in and hoped for the best. The crew was very small too, but I guess we have to start somewhere

I encountered many problems, which you'd expect for such a low budget short film (especially actors), but I've learnt from those mistakes as I begin writing my next short film and hope for a much better output for the next one.

We got busted by the police for the traffic light scene with helicopters and all, but they were nice enough to let us go.

enjoy and let me know what you think

It was a little drawn out. I lost interest after 5 minutes, sorry.

From what I did see the picture quality and lighting were excellent though.

Nicely shot.Looked professional. Not sure about the story. Was a bit strange but good considering its only your second film.

Also you can see the shadow of the camera during the chase scene. :p

We used a Canon 5D mark 2. It's a good camera but the only thing I didn't like about it was that it only outputted as a h.264 by default. Hopefully the mark 3 (whenever it comes out) avoids this issue.

aquila, it's a thriller with hidden messages. I mean I could've easily made an action film to hold onto audiences but I decided to go for a film that made people think for a bit, especially about the connection between the pills and the stuff he saw, so it's a shame you didn't hold out till the end. The film essentially has subtle messages here and there which I made deliberately especially regarding the pills and its importance in dealing with anxiety or depression. Maybe next time i guess :)

Simon_N thanks :) Yeah the story was a bit too full on for a short film, I mean it did have too much information for such a short time but I tried to take a different approach to film making rather than do a simple linear based short film that I've seen most people do. Highly experimental I guess :)

Thanks Konijn, lol :p

maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it, but I'm glad you didn't take my criticism too badly.

I might watch it when I'm a little more mellow.
