Angello's right, haha what he says makes total sense, especially if you play as much as he does and + he plays so many of his own productions...
, if someone held a gun to my head, I could probably pull off a whole set w/out headphones, it just becomes 2nd nature the longer you play I think... plus his style isn't big long transitions, it's in/out with a few bars...

if u know the tracks ur playing and can see the soundwave (e.g. cdj1000/traktor etc.) u can mix easy with no headphones!

Yep, a lot of the tracks have the same structure so they all look similar on the soundwave. So the problem isnt mixing anymore, just mixing the right tracks and doing good programming of the set which is something Traktor soundwaves can't do for you.
Yeah SMH play alotta their own and remixes so that would make it even easier as someone else said, and plus SA has 15 yrs dj'ing experience to boot. It's all about the tracks and programming which you don't really need headphones for if you play your own stuff or stuff that you know well. I enjoyed him last January and although I was wondering what he was doing without headphones he was still definately looking down at the decks and still doing stuff and I thought he progremmed his set nicely.

Does he use traktor? With all the visual aids on the screen it isnt hard to mix without headphones... but doing it just with CDJs would be pretty impressive.
But he probably does play often enough, plus know his songs well enough to do it either way.

He only uses cdjs. I haven't seen a laptop of any sort in his dj booth so yea it is impressive

not really. CDJ mk3s's waveform display is good enough, esp when you know your tunes

end of the vid lol
he claimed on twitter that he djed so much that he doesn't need headphones to mix tracks in, i think that bs because not all tracks just start with a kick (unless he just picks those tracks)

Hmmm he could be storing cue points for each track prior to the set? Then he could just go forward in the track to the cue point. But I'm not sure if you can do that with cdjs. So yea it's possible he's doing more work with his sets then we realize.
Oh yeah I completely forgot that the newer cdjs have waveform display on the console

how does anything you just said apply here? is he using new cdj's?
WittyHandle
Take One? I just took a two and enjoyed it much more.
And while my bet is on him playing pre-mixed CDs, I remember seeing Supa DJ Dimitry play without headphones back in the mid 90's, and that was all vinyl.

yes he could have preset cue points for each of his tracks and save it to SD card on each CDJ. insert SD card into CDJ before set and voila, your tracks are pre cued
