to those who have it: Does the CD come in a jewel-case or in one of those crappy paper fold-out thingys?

Wouldn't it be sweet if there was a music store open 24 hours?
I'd go get my copy now :D:D

I say this as a devoted Sasha fan: I'm far from impressed.

The entire CD is too chilled for my taste, and even for Sasha the release lacks energy. I remember the Sasha of progressive trance. I know his sets for their masterful mixing and ability to bring me places my mind hasn't been.

Sadly, Airdrawndagger does none of this for me. The music isn't the sound of Sasha I've grown to appreciate and adore, but something completely else, something deeper and more ambient. Also, I see little significant difference overall between tracks, no variety of style. It's too repetitive for me.

Just listen. This is a world of difference from Xpander or the feeling of GU 013. I for one am a bit disappointed, and mourn the loss of energy. Sasha is taking a step away from my preferences in this record.

Don't get me wrong, Airdrawndagger is a great collection of sound, but it simply isn't on par with what I expect from a producer as great as Sasha.

It would be nice for someone to agree with me. :p

Any "true" fan of Sasha knows the man is into all types of music some of which are ambient/moody/chilled out tracks and breakbeats. Airdrawn Dagger showcases the mans talent to produce such works and his love of that type of music really shows on this album. Sasha has said it himself. "Airdrawn Dagger is for the true Sasha fan.". So if this is too chilled our for you then so be it. I just think its a shame that anyone could have anything negative to say about this masterpiece. *shrug* As a fan of music I really just can't understand how anyone could not like something off this album. Oh well. :D

Umm do you have the same album I have? Ya "Mr. Tiddles" and "Boileroom" sound so alike! The only thing repeating on this album are great tracks. :)

Umm this album is supposed to be different from anything Sasha has done. Its not supposed to be a club stomper or even trance for that matter. This is an album that you put in, turn off the lights, slip on some good headphones and let the music consume you. Or something like that. :)

Its everything I'd expect from Sasha and more. It showcases his talents for producing great music.

Good luck dude. :D Actually considering the sheer amount of crappy trance (or any type of music for that matter) that exists in this world I'm sure someone agrees with you. I wouldn't be proud of that though.

Hey I'm not a Sasha cheerleader nor am I out to tear anyone who dislikes this album a new butthole. I'm just voicing my opinions and quite frankly it amazes me when something this great still manages to get some type of negative response from someone. No harm done. I respect everyones opinions. I just think some peoples opinions are really wacked and off base. All in good fun dude. ;)

Agreed... :)

Btw, Cobalt, I'm sorry it wasn't what you expected... but you have to agree that his "deeper, ambient" style preserves all the quality of a Sasha production ... (except the energy-)...

I downloaded this CD a while ago... ( I know, I'm a bad boy )

And I must say, that this CD is very very very good. I throughly enjoy all of the tracks... except Track 4, it's a little bland for my tastes.

But, this CD ages very well, I'm still listening to it every now and then, even though I've had it for a good month now. All the songs have grown on me, and I'm enjoying it all.

I whole-heartedly recommend this CD to anybody with open ears and an open mind. Even those that don't wouldn't normally like techno in general. I think there's something for everybody on this CD. :)

I'm betting it won't be out in NZ for another coupla months... just like Gatecrasher releases... and they even get tracks cut for no particular reason.

I might order it off Amazon but in the end I probably won't bother and'll just wait...
