On white label and that vinyl pack, never got a proper release. No wonder, the track is not very good.
i think it released as a Rui Da Silva - Elements too, including all the four elements tracks. this might be a white label though. taste is something we dont discuss here :)

Proof please.
A lot of Armand Van Helden's earlier stuff is pretty much a catchy one bar loop repeated for 5 minutes.

That's a weird thing though - I know some people who don't care for it and some that will fight you to the death for insulting that track, banging on about it's incredible building atmosphere etc.
I don't think it's terrible per say but I've never quite understood the fascination with that track. Apparently it sounds ing incredible in a club but I've never had the pleasure.

its a very organic and dirty track which many dont like, they might like a clean production and thats why i posted it, as an example of how little production-quality can mean to some/most people compared to a epic vibe, that seems to be totally forgotten in these forums. ive witnessed people be quite emo over this track lol so it has to have something special. and yes i doubt you can have any attachment to it if you havent heard it at a party with people you like. its one of those moment-tracks, try putting it on during late hours when the sun is rising after a long night (with lots of people).

That's what i thought. It's a strange thing, like I said some people who have an emotional attachement to this track, feel it really strongly.
I wonder if there is some kind of bizarre psychological effect with the fact the track isn't pristine in production quality but has a building atmosphere that makes people abnormally attached to it?
Sonic_C should do that one for his thesis :toothless

I listened to that track. I get the appeal. I honestly think if it was submitted in producer's promo, today, it would get one camp that loved the epic vibe and another that would slam its high-register play-ground and over-played ducking. I don't think the YouTube quality does it any justice but man... What a weird track.

probably the most ty production ever yet its considered the most epic house voyage of all time.
this might sound ed up, but this track unlocked a lot for me. the production is quite poor but it doesnt matter, im quite inspired even though i know many many better tracks of the same style, its somewhat unusual, thanks again palm. sometimes i sponge things a lot. my latest remix in the promo section was a product, hope to roll on with the inspiration. i need to start digging again. ive been focusing on recent releases.

Rui Da Silva's better work was done with Chris Coco as Coco Da Silva. That what pretty much put him on the map in the early days. This track was a great mind- track in the middle of a late night set. Never failed to deliver for me when I was playing out regularly. I first heard this when Sasha dropped it about 3 AM, and the place went mental. This was during that sort of "dirty tribal progressive house" era when people like Steve Lawler were playing all this stuff.
Even stuff like this were real good floor tracks. People just ate this stuff up in that tribal era in the early 2000's.
But I think a lot of it was Chris Coco.
man, great stuff this.

another example of epic track with ty production.
production means nothing. content is everything.
Rodri Santos
you need a good mixdown and arrangement to get the track signed but the content is everything yes, most old tracks wouldn't get signed today for this reason.
And if you listen to a hit at 128 kbps is like listening to an awful production. But still is a hit.

A hit house track requires a catchy vocal melody first and foremost. When talking about "hits", a memorable vocal melody is paramount.
Great production can take it to a different level but great songwriting >>>>> production when the discussion is hits.
Ercola's "Deep At Night" and Stardusts "Music Sounds Better With You" come to mind.
