What can I tell you? This place is nuts !!! GrooveENERGY decided to go to Waterloo to check out a new club called Beta to see Steve Aoki. I've never been there or seen any of Steve's performances, and both didn't let me down. Beta has so much potential as an upstart, especially located in a town that caters to, amongst others, university students who are eager to party hard. There was so much energy in that place and I hope the video is able to fully portray this. Steve Aoki was as also out of control as the crowd, and it was a joy to video him bringing all that energy! His has an interesting play list that's hard to describe, where the only way to truly appreciate it is to watch the full version on YouTube. I was caught off guard when he through a large air mattress on the crowd then jumped on for the ride of his life... LOL! This guy is nuts... in the best way possible. Ryan, the owner of the club, showed top notch hospitality and allowed me full access to take the best video I could. At one point I had to use the long granite bar as my roadway to take shots, as moving through the crowd would have been for to difficult to say the least. GrooveENERGY is definitely looking forward to returning to Waterloo's newest hotspot !!!
Every respectable performer should be showing up with his own mattress just in case.

I was wondering why it was parked up in the DJ area and I was thinking at the time that it had potential for booth bunnies who want to express how they REALLY APPRECIATE the DJ!

I've never met him before, so I can't really comment about him. He seemed alright when I had a short chat with him after his set.
Tomorrow I'll be recording John OO Fleming so we'll see how he is. I heard that he's supposed to be pretty good, so if that's the case then videoing him will that much better.
