Also, the noise that starts at the same time - it's a stuttering air noise that pans from right to left. It starts right at the beginning of the song, after the opening noise. Maybe "metallic" isn't the proper way to describe it, but both of these instruments sound like they're playing in a metal tunnel, at least to my ears.
P.S. This is also one of my favorite tracks! |

Check the start of this, similar noise? This are indeed hats, i can tell you how i did this on Fl Studio if this is what you look for, with different settings should sound like Tyas. |

yo,
So i think you are talking about the synth that is offset with the kick right? You could prob use the wasp or sytrus for this. To me it sounds like a saw/square wave module with the release up more. Then a little small roomed Reverb and some Delay to full in the background.
For the second more airy noise. Try taking the 3xosc to make the airy sounding noise, then add a flanger or phaser for the pitch lfo modulating. Then export as a mp3 or wave or whatever you prefer and import it under the audio clips and chop it up.
This might not be the simplest way for a person who is green witht he DAW but you will get the hang of it man

I'm not sure if it's the same sound, but very nice work on the track my friend! I think the sound in Tyas' song is not hats. It's sounds like air to me, but I could be totally wrong. |

Yes, it's the synth that is offset with the kick. I'm not so much wanting to emulate that synth, but I like the metallic effect that it has on it and I think it would sound cool on some of my synth sounds.
As for the airy sound, I make this sound in 3xocs often, and I use the lfo on volume to make it stutter. It sounds cool but the sound is too basic I think, which is why I think a metallic effect would spice it a up a little. I managed to get a decent metal effect using the short-timed delay. I think if I play with it some more I can get it to sound nice. I'll try again with the flanger and some phaser also just to see what i can do. |

I think it all depends on the background, well there are 2 sounds playing one is constant and i think that is some kind of bassline, the other i'm pretty sure that was done with a similar technique to what i used.
Since it's quite easy i will explain it to you:
It's a simple Hi hat 4x4 pattern but with a Fruity Flangus applyed and an automation of Stereo Delay on a Send panning up and down, there you have that metalic sound, the Tyas sound is more polished however but getting to this levels is difficult, despite what some people say Sean Tyas is a good producer. |

| FM synthesis. Very hard to achieve sounds like that with subtractive synthesis. |

I can barely use a subtractive synth, so this is a bit beyond me right now :) |

Wow his CD skipped? That's gotta be embarrassing. But yea he does make some banging tunes. I can't speak on his production or DJ skills because I'm not qualified to do so, but as a listener, I really enjoy his tracks! |

| it's not the first time i heard that ST's is awful in his sets, the rumours say that he is full on acid during his sets, something i strongly believe seeing his face at the end of the night. |
