I had this mix unfinished for some weeks and with Poz's mix i got the inspiration to finish it, a bit of background here, skip this lines if you want to know what the is this i will explain it later:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This summer i put some of the ambient, chill and favourite osts i had on a 80 minutes mix just for self enjoyment purposes that i printed on a cd, one day i was driving with my parents and put that cd, by the end of the trip they were really interested of this cd since they liked it and was completely different to the noisy and weird stuff i usually listen in their words. Then they recommended it to other relatives, some of my friends got unsolicit interest of it, friends of my friends got even more unsolicit interest of it and in the end a lot of people have a copy of my mix... honestly wasn't a breath taking mix , but for people who only listen to David Guetta this was actually music.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, so how is the mix:
Excluding the intro which is just to set a mood the first part of the mix consist in Ambient tracks , relaxing, some short lines of melodies... easy to listen.
The 2nd part is an Orchestral part of some OSTS, on my first mix i included very short fragments of the OSTS that were used in Trailers, Sneak Peaks etc... this is the full version, by the master Hans Zimmer, usually 3 tracks of the same composer in a row isn't a good idea but in this case it is, Tenesse starts another part though.
The 3rd part relys more on the piano sounds i love so much.
4th Part includes all the psy and ambient noises every mix of this kind needs, and to finish... well judge yourself :) that last tracks are very special for me for different reasons.
So i hope you like it and.... happy listening!

| Looks like an interesting combo, will give it a listen. Some good tracks I see in there but enough I don't know for me to be extremely curious. |

this is not my style of music, but it was well executed for what it was. the mixing was functional, and the flow decent, but the track selection made this set. made a tight kind of sense as you went from track to track.
Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby (Ambient Mix) was the track of the set, real real happy when i heard this, cuz my dyslexic ass wasn't able to read it on the tracklist the first 50 times i looked at it. |

Good review! I expected you'd find some differences between the mixes it's obvious we define ambient in a different way :P |

Aight, finally got a chance to listen to this. Mixing and the flow were good, the first couple of tracks were not for me, but that's not really your fault.. After Time got in things got a little better, soon it was an interesting journey of good sounds, The Dewberry Tree is imo the peak of the set. Really epic track! The end of it was really great too, the ambient of 7 cities was really good, and the last track was an interesting but good choice.
Good work man! :) |
