I've noticed over the last year or so these have gotten really popular and are showing up all over... Does anyone actually use them though?

If you don't know what they are, its these:

My phone can read them. I've only ever taken the time to scan a couple though, just when I was bored.

Yeah, they're everywhere in Japan. Every-bloody-where!

I can't wait for the day knickers there will have their own QR codes so you can take a picture with your mobile phone and access a secret portal where schoolgirls sell their underwear to perverts from all around the globe.

Boarding passes. They can scan them off your phone @ the airport, in lieu of a paper one.

Only place I've seen them.

Only problem is when people who suck @ technology try it. Last time, there was a guy who had it zoomed in so it clipped the edges off, and he couldn't figure out how to fix it.

I've also seen numerous people wave it around like it's a damn magnetic keycard...

Still, the time saved worrying about, printing, and retrieving the paper passes is worth tolerating the embarrassing failures of a few n00bs.

:haha:

I'd definitely use my phone instead of paper, if I had the choice. Think of the environment!

Looks forward to the day when Stu brings his phone, covered in , back to the phone shop and attempting to explain to the dumbfounded employees how he tried to use it instead of paper.
