I'm still in complete disbelief and awe that DoubleTree is booked! I think they are just holding out on rooms and waiting till closer to the date....

But when is that day that they release the rooms? I was thinking of trying Hotels.ca again, but then you can't get or use Hilton Rewards points...

Bought 3 tickets! My first time was last year, and I only went Saturday. So cheap, how can I refuse.

Are these all pretty much in the same area? Also which hotel has the best location / is closest to the festival itself?!?

Detroit Renaissance Centre and Courtyard Marriott are the closest.

RenCen is nicer but more expensive.

They're all close, actually closer than the DoubleTree... right in the thick of it all.

The Marriots are nice, but (and I know people are going to say i'm wrong), but from my experience, they are plenty strict with glass bottles, drinking in the hallways and have a pretty strict policy on noise, if they tell you once you're on watch, twice you're out. I've heard of the security there being very selective and abusing that power and just kicking people out or accusing the wrong room and when you defend yourself, they get you kicked out for causing a fuss.

Remember, not everyone in Detroit that weekend is there for the beats, it's Memorial Day weekend, some are just guests with families and they seem to care more about them then the ravers (which really isn't all that outrageous considering each hotel only needs a few s to smoke in the hallways, elevators, leave bottles everywhere and act completely inappropriate in a public place and they ruin it for the rest of us).

Has anyone stayed at the Greektown Casino Hotel?

Just booked the Courtyard Marriott Downtown May 28-May 30 for US$129/night :D . The rate jumped to $159/night if I added one more night.

I'm not sure if I need Monday night, since we'll be leaving directly after the festival on Monday... if anything, I doubt that last night will be booked full, so I may be able to extend my stay while I'm there that weekend.

Ultra Week Miami and Detroit are really tying up my credit card lol.
