I read an article saying that these types of samples were the new thing last year. Well Gramophonedzie - Why Don't You and Gramatik - Hit That Jive both sample tracks from 1942, and both of which are now awesome tracks. That's all I know of however, anyone else have anything?

Well, while your at it, you might as well not be a Dj or Producer because those sounds have also have done before.
Maybe one in a great few songs are completely unique but that is far in between.
Even Bands create a sound that is unique then all of a sudden every album (for the most part sounds like their first one)
There is always an exception the rules though.

you are right, but this electronic hiphop techno stuff has taken over my brain. im succumbing to the temptation. everything i hear gets looped and a beatgrid put over it in my head.
