US Bill to "Pull an Egypt" (pg. 2)

Why in the world would they ever need to use a kill switch? The use of it in Egypt was highly corrupt IMO, so I do not see that as a good example.

I hope it doesn't go through. There is no reason that I can think of, of why the internet should ever be shut down.

as with ever policy decision in the US, it's apparently to do with "Security"... apparently the internet is extremely dangerous, so they need a safe guard in case the countries ever taken down by it.... :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :stongue: :stongue:

I can't remember where, but the other day I read an article about how it would be almost impossible for the U.S. to do with Egypt did. They only had about 3 or 4 providers piping the internet into their country, while we have hundreds and thousands. Also so much of the internet is inside our country we could just make our own without the rest of the world being needed.

That's why they're making this bill Lews, to make it possible to just flip the switch and cut all internet. If they already could they wouldn't need the bill :p
