Sound challenge: lead from Tilt - "Invisible"

I really like this distorted-sounding lead from Tilt - "Invisible" (Supernatural Mix):

Anyone want to have a crack at replicating it? I'm not asking you to make a patch for me or anything. Just want to see if anyone can get pretty close, if they're interested.

To me it sounds like some kind of high resonance subtractive synth sound with distortion on it. So that could be a starting point I guess.

i remember that lead from one of the Virus presets. Its actually in the onboard demo of the A-C virus. Basically that with distortion.

Also was one of the songs that made me want a Access Virus C or B.
I think it has Virus all over that track.

Does the Virus A (or B or C) have FM? kinda sounds like some FM is used when it gets to the really screechy bits in that sample

the nasal like character comes from the band pass filter. That is pretty much the key to the patch.

i remember reading that mick wilson said that they used a korg trinity for the lead of invisible

I was waiting for someone to mention that. Invisible is basically Gamemaster and Rendezvous put together with a vocal thrown on top.

I still like Invisible better, though. :)

I'm sure you know this but that'l be because Matt Darey and Red Jerry did the lost tribe treatment to both those tracks ;)

I years ago just messing around I managed to get a nearly identical sound out of vstation.

The days when Matt Darey was actually awesome.. ahh. Wizards of the Sonic (Matt Darey Mix) was also a good'n'.
