Torontonians have had such a bad rep for being winter wussies in Canada since the army was called in for 2ft of snow. Everytime you poke fun at them they get defensive, say its not true blah blah.
Well actions speak louder than words and all this hoopla for 6 inches downtown just boosted that rep. Maybe time to either accept that this is Canada and yes we get snow, or continue the behaviour and accept the bugging from the everyone outside the GTA...? |

Just when I thought I was done 1/2 the shovelling I expected yesterday.... it looks like the second wave and half is coming down right now. A couple inches fell just this last hour alone. |

That situation is always taken out of context - the fact is, that year Toronto's snow-clearing equipment was sub-par (this was rectified in following years) thus snow was NOT being cleared fast enough (on city side-streets) and affected emergency response/ambulances. The decision to call in the army (while seemingly excessive to those outside) was justified (in my eyes).
