i totally agree. i kind of find it sad how once a trance song (say a good one) starts getting overplayed on the radio or at clubs, ppl start dissing it and complaining how commercial it is and how cheesy it is. like ppl who cringe when they hear darude or atb jus cuz it was overplayed...but hey, they were one of the forefathers of trance. i ain't gonna diss them. |

| i must confess that i like this tune at the moment (the greencourt mix) cuz ive only heard it a few times. i havent heard it being played anywhere else, apart my computer. but i f*cking HATE cheese crap like Lasgo - gets me really angry when i hear those sort of tunes! |

| Hey I have a question for some of you. You seem to think that once a song gets played on the radio here in North America, it automatically becomes cheese right? Last night I heard Underworld - Cowgirl, one of the best prog(maybe not the right genre) songs EVER on the radio (energy FM for anyone in the golden horseshoe). Now since that happened, can I no longer listen to it because it is cheese? |

just listen to what you like, thats what I do. Who cares what other people think is cheese, makes no difference to me. I define cheese as an actual stylistic device, rather than a term for something I dislike.
Aqua - Barbie Girl to me is cheese, cause that was the stylistic intent, to make a cheesy whimsical song as it were.
Commercial is another term I could care less about. I dont count record sales to determine what's cool to like...
radio airplay means nothing to me, cause I rarely listen to the radio anyways. If I do, I play oldies or country, cause I'll wanna hear something different than electronic dance, yet not Top 40, cause I dont like Top 40.
edit : and just for the record, I cant stand Aqua. :D |
