Tonight was awesome. First time at Avalon, and I'll DEFINITELY be back.
Bas played some sexy ass disco/funk/house in the Honey Lounge.
The line to get into the main room never became bad at all. It stayed pretty short all night.
I left at 7am to catch the red line home, since I could barely stand up at that point (I was exhausted), but Digweed was still spinning. Dude's a machine.
There weren't many washers at all, for the record.
I had a good time. :) |

| Typical night at Avalon. Will call holders went in through the Spider entrance (there was no line when I went). There was a line to get to the main room but they were slowly letting people in. I have to say it was more crowded in the main room than when they first started the capacity control. Kazell did an excellent job opening as usual. Digweed played a good set. I left around 5 and didn't have any problem getting on the freeway with the street closures. |

| Anyone know of a digweed set from 2011 that has a similar feel to what digweed spun at avalon? His set was absolutely mental, I loved it. Last time I saw him was on NYE w/ him n sasha. I got up n left cuz I found it boring. This was a lot more energetic than what he was spinning like 04-05 when I thought he was just but last night did evoke the same quality. |

Again, another epic night.
I agree. From 430a-630a, insanely mind tracks. Just don't know how he does it.
We left around 630a, and he was still going strong: we were exhausted.
My fault I didn't move over to Honey to see Bas spin, but ran into him on the main floor around 5a.
When did they move will call over to Spider? |

Similar theme was when he played the "late night" set last year at Avalon (exactly same weekend as the Marathon).
Looking at the sets I have from him from the fall/winter: none of them are gigs from 2010 (all of them are radio sets, or gigs from the past). I haven't caught up to 2011 yet. |

It was my first time seeing a proper Digweed club set (i.e. longer than 2 hours) and I agree it was nuts.
Something about his songs are just right for late night. The combination of alcohol, fatigue, the dark atmosphere of Avalon, and the tracks he was playing was incredible. It was like he was bringing everyone to the very edge of sanity. Absolutely stellar. |

progressive folks. lots of old school peeps. Really tough to answer. When most people listen to Digweed or Sasha, you really do more listening. Let him be your guide as cheesy as that sounds.
Christopher Lawrence and Bossi from Cosmic Gate stopped by to watch Digweed. |
