Your not wrong. And while I wouldn't argue that a current large portion of the 'heavy bandwidth users' are probably pirating quite a bit - there are increasing avenues for people to be getting the same content legally.
The proposed caps would basically make a service like NetFlix not very feasible in Canada, especially if they wanted to expand into high-def content. But, a TL;DR of my previous post.
a) The proposed caps are out of line with current technology trends considering the increased number of ways to legitimately obtain content online and limits the viability of innovation and commerce in this area.
b) Its anti-competitive for independent ISPs that have no choice but to buy bandwidth wholesale from Bell/Rogers, and having these caps forced onto them if they wanted it or not. |

I didn't say any transfer protocol.
Do you want me to list: ftp, http, torrents, ..etc? Would you understand what they all meant?
I use torrents to get live sets, linux distros. I used to use torrents for movies and tv shows, but now I have netflix, and watch a lot of CTV's website.
Now that I have financially viable alternatives, I use them.
Oh yeah, NBA League Pass. I watch a lot of basketball now. Had the same service for the MLB a couple years back. paying for it on cable. The $150 gets me every basketball game on any computer and phone.
I just got the 2010 essential mix pack through torrents. |
So you do use torrents a lot and you left them off of your list??
I found that funny is all...
And I do have a very basic knowledge of what file transfer protocol and hypertext transfer protocol mean. And I do know what torrents are..
But hand clap for you trying to out geek me... |

Any comments on it before I plunk the money down? Anything I should know? |
