SALEM are John Holland, Heather Marlatt and Jack Donoghue. John and Heather went to high school together in Interlochen, Michigan and later moved to Chicago where they met Jack. Together they make deeply personal electronic pop music that incorporates gothy shoegaze with elements of Chicago Juke, Houston Screw, and Southern rap production with sometimes terrifying, often beautiful, but always haunting vocals. An audacious project on paper, in reality it is some of the most forward thinking pop music being made today not to mention some of the darkest, prettiest music one is likely to hear for quite some time.
