Currently been using the Ableton auto filter, but want to see if you guys know of any way better ones to use. :) Seems like I get the same characteristics of sound out of this filter and I want to try others.

Volcano 2.

I like:

Sound Toys FilterFreak - definitely my favorite
Tone2 FilterBank 3
FabFilter Volcano 2
U-he Filterscape
Vengeance Philta XL
tehlord
Volcano is the bollocks, or simplon/micro if you don't want to be confused.

I've also found that IIEQ Pro works superbly as a HP/LP/BP especially when swept, and you get a very tasty EQ into the bargain too.

sonalksis tbk is usually my goto filter due to it's ease of use

Filterbank 3 and Volcano 2 are my personal favorites.

i stopped using ableton's autofilter, it colors, i don't know what it's doing it but it colors. i started using the TBK but the lack of resonance automation & control is just baffling, the filter is GREAT sounding but in house music i need to be able to automate the resonance, end of story. That said i bought Simplon from fabfilter, i love it. it has nearly everything autofilter had for ableton without the saturation, i then bought volcano but it's too complicated, not that i don't understand it but i don't need all of it (yet).

i like HP and LP in 24dB/oct. but also notch filters and comb filters are nice.
