Greatest poem ever written IMO.

But, I do like this one quite a bit.

A Feaver by John Donne (1572-1631)

O ! DO not die, for I shall hate
All women so, when thou art gone,
That thee I shall not celebrate,
When I remember thou wast one.
But yet thou canst not die, I know ;
To leave this world behind, is death ;
But when thou from this world wilt go,
The whole world vapours with thy breath.

Or if, when thou, the world's soul, go'st,
It stay, 'tis but thy carcase then ;
The fairest woman, but thy ghost,
But corrupt worms, the worthiest men.

O wrangling schools, that search what fire
Shall burn this world, had none the wit
Unto this knowledge to aspire,
That this her feaver might be it?

And yet she cannot waste by this,
Nor long bear this torturing wrong,
For more corruption needful is,
To fuel such a fever long.

These burning fits but meteors be,
Whose matter in thee is soon spent ;
Thy beauty, and all parts, which are thee,
Are unchangeable firmament.

Yet 'twas of my mind, seizing thee,
Though it in thee cannot perséver ;
For I had rather owner be
Of thee one hour, than all else ever.

John Donne - A Valediction Forbidding Mourning

AS virtuous men pass mildly away,
And whisper to their souls to go,
Whilst some of their sad friends do say,
"Now his breath goes," and some say, "No."

So let us melt, and make no noise,
No tear-floods, nor sigh-tempests move ;
'Twere profanation of our joys
To tell the laity our love.

Moving of th' earth brings harms and fears ;
Men reckon what it did, and meant ;
But trepidation of the spheres,
Though greater far, is innocent.

Dull sublunary lovers' love
—Whose soul is sense—cannot admit
Of absence, 'cause it doth remove
The thing which elemented it.

But we by a love so much refined,
That ourselves know not what it is,
Inter-assurèd of the mind,
Care less, eyes, lips and hands to miss.

Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat.

If they be two, they are two so
As stiff twin compasses are two ;
Thy soul, the fix'd foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if th' other do.

And though it in the centre sit,
Yet, when the other far doth roam,
It leans, and hearkens after it,
And grows erect, as that comes home.

Such wilt thou be to me, who must,
Like th' other foot, obliquely run ;
Thy firmness makes my circle just,
And makes me end where I begun.

the swastika in buddhism often signifies the heart and mind of the buddha which is why it is often seen engraved in the chest of buddha statues. it also represents buddha's footprints and that in a round about way is why it is used to signify good luck. in hinduism the direction of the swastika matters, one direction is goodluck and vishnu the other way is war i think and other kinds of fortune...i might be wrong with the hindu one. but anyways in japan it will probably always be faced clockwise and the nazi symbol is counterclockwise.

also, its really trppy walking the streets and seeing swastikas everywhere for the first time. in south korea they are lit up as neon signs for buddhist centers and are absolutely everywhere up and down the street. there are probably even more swastikas than plastic surgery places, which is saying a lot for the area i stayed at.

True, but that's not the reason why they dress up like that. If anything, it just makes swastikas look less threatening. Remember that Hitler bar in Seoul a couple of years ago that made Jews fume all around the world?

i went to that bar and i am looking for a picture of myself in front of it now...i don't think i went in, i was pretty creeped out by the idea of it, but at the time i was about 50 percent sure that they just chose a random english word and it happened to be hitler not knowing what it meant.

Like the Toilet Restaurant in Taiwan?

i tried googling an image of myself there since i think that the pic is on my 220v hard drive or in the possession of an ex who has probably deleted all pics of me...there were several in korea, and i had no idea. i am so glad that i didn't go in now! creepy. totally unrelated but they have a pirate bar right beside it where they serve drinks in ice glasses and when you finish your drink you toss it at a target behind the bar, if you hit it you get another drink for free...i loved that place.

No matter what the original origins of the swastika are it will be forever tainted by the Nazis. At least in America.

They probably hate America because it exploits Japanese reporters:
