In reality, people that are in earthquake zones should have a "bug out bag" as well as supply of food and water and supplies for 2 weeks.
Its very possible that places like Western Washington could experience major earthquakes that could destroy most major ports and airports and make roads, even major highways impassible for up to a week. |

Well the idea of being prepared for massive calamity is not that insane like they are making out Crossland to be when you live in a place that might experience something that would be very much a region ending event like a Cascadian megathrust quake. |

One day the will hit the fan, Chris Crossland will grab his bag and run for it, congratulating himself on his foresight and preparation.
That night after preparing his bed of leaves, trip wire warning system and making sure his gun is within quick reach, he'll reach into his bag for some food, and before opening it sees on the label
