| Just noticed my old stomping grounds Opera Atlanta made the list! Not surprising since they re-modeled and started targeting the bottle service crowd a few years ago. :/ |

agreed. Circus is one of the best clubs in the country. my second home. And as each time i mention that, i have to say i wish they would remodel the place :) |

| Funny... Those San Diego "clubs" really never cater to the sound we are all here for, but hey, that's the business... let's put Top 40 and Rock in a club and have the kids come out now! |

True, changed something with the lighting recently. Sound has improved. It's coming along, next month of headliners is best I've seen in 3 years. check it out.

The shell (everything regarding the building expect the interior), the layout (except maybe the huge room they opened up since it murdered the acoustics in the venue even moer), the patio of circus is what makes Circus.
The inside is run down and the sound needs a huge tuning. It's an EAW Avalon system, I believe, but they need more speakers and subs to fill the room evenly with sound. And then work on the acoustics to make it sound clean.
But it hasn't been done in all these years it's been said it's needed (and became critical when DJs started said they wanted to play more modern venues in LA), so I don't expect it to happen. Ever. |
