This initial mix of Ligaya is definitely in the "good but not great" category for me.
Would it still be a hit if Gouryella wasn't the name on it? Probably.
Would it end up being the massive hit that it will be? Doubtful.
I hope the Rank 1 remix is eventually released, and that some other quality producers can get into the act (is it too much to ask for an end of the year *Tiesto* remix of this? Oh please, oh please...) as the my initial impressions have this as my least favourite Gouryella cut.
It's got some decent elements but it doesn't lift me nearly as high as the previous 3 tracks did :sadgreen: |

Yeah, its such a shame considering its a Ferry Corsten track... I mean, Ferry has done much better work by his self... hes really messed this one up :P |

i don't see anything special in this tune. i might dance to it at a party, but its nothing that'll make me have a heartattack either.
i listened to it yesterday but was doing some other stuff at the time, i figured if something sounded really good i would stop and hear it. that didn't happen.
today i listened again, nothing special, but not a either |

| IMO really good tune, but not amazing. Better than Wallhalla (the worst Gouryella IMO) but not as good as Tenshi or Gouryella. I think the rip is fine. |

I totally disagree with you on Walhalla (a great emotional uplifting classic IMHO), but I agree Ligaya isn't as good as Tenshi. I cannot ban out the thought that Ferry did a routine job on this one... familiar build-up, familiar intermezzo etc. Routine but good. Not as deep and emotional as the previous Gouryella tracks, but a sure dancefloor trasher. Then again, maybe the expectations were too high. The only thing that lacks is originality: Walhalla was completely different compared to Gouryella and Tenshi was completely different compared to the previous two tracks, while at the same time maintaining the Gouryella character. Final conclusion: good track, nice to hear the good old uplifting Ferry style, but it could have been better. |

Don't mind me! I just made a joke because they all thought it is a bad rip. Most times you get a fixed after that. And the rumor went that some other group would release it so you rushed it. I'm not a sound freak so I actually don't hear any 'cracks' and stuff like that ;).
Anyway, watch out for my Bonzai CD's in 256 next week ;) (ask TDM)
