hrm...odd C: drive i have..

can someone explain this

its a kinda big image 1200x1600 or what ever..
k, one side, it says , my C: drive is 30 gb, then, it also says, ist 47 beside it. i dont get it.
its supposed to be a 30 gb hard dive ;/ |

not sure why its that far off but you should do the following:
1. split your drive into 2 partitions (1 for sys, the other for data).
2. free up more space, windows needs empty room to run well. |

| is there any disk compression running on this drive? and wot size does the bios say it is? |

| run norton disk doctor :) and get rid of that FAT32. |

i'm referring to two things that have nothing to do with indexing:
1. the larger the partition size the less efficent windows handles it.
2. if your system and data files are all on one big partition they become fragmented faster because system temp files get mixed in with the rest of your files while your working.
btw, just because windows reports an incorrect drive size doesnt mean you magically gained space, if you bought a 30gig drive then thats all you have. |
