I always hear about tracks that are "dance floor clearers," but I'm curious-- have any of you ever seen a DJ up a track selection so bad that it really did clear the dancefloor? If so what track was it?

saw Tommy Lee at RAIN back in 2004 when he though he could DJ

he really didn't clear the dance floor but he was soooo bad that everyone on the dance floor sat down

Never at a club have I witnessed that but I have at a house party.

This was the song that made everyone go back to standing along the walls of the house or getting a drink/doing drugs.

Now I did hear from a friend around 96/97/98 (somewhere in that period of time) at a warehouse rave (not a club) Dj Keoki played an orignal track and all it kept saying was "I HAVE AIDS" over this obnioxious beat and the dance floor went blank but I wasn't there.

Anything by Scooter should clear a dance floor quite well.

For reals man, it was weird, at the time I didn't really understand music like that had a fan base besides kids.

hahahah played that a few years ago and it actually went off wit the crowd
Rodri Santos
any track that you play it twice or even 3 times (i've seen a dj playing a track twice and then the next dj played that track again, you can hear the crowd screaming at this moment "oh please not again") or when you play a really boring track, something with slow beats, horrible vocals no groove... if you play this after a energetic section of the mix people instintively will leave.

I've seen this quite a lot times, some local djs have no clue at all, their track selection and mix programming sucks so is easy to overhear despective comments like "oh, here comes the again"

Actually caught DJ Mirco down in AC a few years ago.....

you would have thought someone farted sooo bad cause thats how fast he cleared the dance floor

Haa haa, back then Americans didn't understand a lot of this kind of music actually, while in Germany a wave of rave was going on, and those weren't just kids.
We will be FOREVER YOUNG :)

Still cool how they throw that 303 in there, aaaahhh.

If Scooter makes you leave the dancefloor, what does this make you do:

I have seen many dance floor clearers live. Just depends on the audience which track can do the trick, doesn't need to be a bad track either.

I don't practically like that genre of EDM but I understand it a lot more than I did then.
