1. Yes, I tried searching, sorry if I missed it

2. I hope I don't get ridiculed too much as I'm actually posting my attempt and not just saying 'what synth do I need to make an awesome bassline'

I'm trying to get a very specific sound here...I suspect it's all about detuning some sawtooth, or maybe even using chorus, but I can't quite nail it, and I've tried a few different things now and am just looking for any new ideas to help push me in the right direction.

Anyway, here's the kind of sound I'm after...roughly.

1. The bassline in the track 'Elysium' with a sample over here: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/Vinyls/dee/dee1ep016.html

2. Another example from an old Luke Chable track here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYSuK7x115w skip to 2:30 for best example

I'm not trying to copy these basslines exactly, plus both examples are a bit different, but I am looking for something in this ballpark, with that dark, 'haunting' tone.

Here's what I've got going on now:

Top layer: Topbass
Sub: Sub
Top and Sub together: Topandsub
Bassline with a very basic sequence just to show it off with another layer: Basswithstuff

I hope that helps a bit, if you have any tips for getting that kind of bassline from the two examples posted, I would greatly appreciate it.

As for my example, I'm just detuning saws and adding some chorus, but again, I'm not really nailing it.
