Why did Deep Dish breakup?

Why did Deep Dish breakup? Anyone know? I love a lot of their old sets and used to play a lot of their songs back then.

My guess is that Dubfire wanted to go more "minimal" than deep dish's standard output. Plus, they could make more money playing separately.

cause they forgot to "say hello" to each other one day. that was cheesy

Differences with in the two. There is a good interview I read where Dubfire actually lays it out on the table. It was "musical differences." They are both playing a minimal sound right now, but dubfire's is a little more darker.

Sharam is more showbiz though, he was at the Grammys and even was at a dinner table with Elton Jon that night.

It really is a shame that they broke up. I have seen each of them individually and was very unimpressed. The magic they once shared and communicated to the dancefloor is now gone.

I can't tell you how many memorable sets I've had the pleasure of experiencing. The space WMC marathons (main room and terrace), The Guvernment 6 hour sets...man I miss Deep Dish.

Can any promoter get them to do a reunion tour? I'd pay big money to attend that is for sure.

I certainly enjoyed seeing them together.

Just listen to some of their current releases. They are worlds apart musically these days.

Cause Dubfire wasnt "The One"

I have to say I'm kinda glad they split up. Don't get me wrong, I liked them together, but then they played a Katrina benefit in DC back in 2005; Ali on the main floor and Sharam in the VIP. Sharam played horribly and practically chased me out of the room wih 20 mins of "Say Hello" :nervous: Ali played an amazing set, dark and twisted.
I always thought Ali was the more talented half of Deep Dish and I always love seeing him play. Sharam, not so much. Saw him some months ago and he was a bore, ended up going elsewhere. The way it looks to me is that Sharam kind of held Ali back. They were pure magic together, but look at them now. Ali moved on and Sharam is in the same place: playing crap.
