Discogs and old vinyls

I stumbled upon dads old vinyl collection, which he doesn't care about any more. It contains a lot of classical, jazz, folk to pop-records from 1970 through the 80s. It also got a fair amount of limited editions and box sets. Some of them are in mint condition (plastic wrapped), others not so much.

Is it worth putting these up on discogs for sale? Are there any requirements for proof of ownership? And how big is discogs database when it comes to releases from these years?

Try selling on http://www.gemm.com/ aswell. :)

Thanks, does that site let me import my discogs-collection or do I have to register them twice?

You can send them a spreadsheet so presume it would be pretty easy to copy any discogs listings you have. :)

Cool, maybe I should send my dad an email giving him a heads up :D

Keep it all and make an instrumental hip-hop record out of it.

Mould them into fruit bowls and sell them for a dollar each on Venice beach.
