I am putting together a playlist for a CD I am going to start mixing soon. What are some tracks you guys think I should look into for my CD?

Here is what I have so far:

Mark James – Hear Me
Push – Tranzy State of Mind
Sagitaire - Shout C'mon
Fire and Ice – San Antonio
Sunscream – Exodus (Fire and Ice Mix)
Jon The Dentist vs. Ollie Jaye – Imagination (K90 Remix)
DJ Darkzone – Watching You
JFK – Good God
Rank 1 – Such is Life
Accadia – Into the Dawn (Anthrax Remix)
Westbam vs. Red Jerry – Wizards of Sonic (Matt Darey Mix)

To give you an idea of what style I am looking for and what songs I have used already, here are some of the songs on my previous CD:

Schiller – Das Glockenspiel
Schiller - Ruhe {Ayla remix}
Sonorous- Glass Garden
Iio - Rapture (Riva Remix)
Tenth planet –Ghosts
Sunscreem vs. Push – Please Save Me {Vocal Mix}
Kamaya Painters – Wasteland
Dumonde -Never Look Back
Dj Tiesto - Urban Train
S.O.L – Pollenflug
Silverblue – Step Back (Blue Sky Remix)
Angelic - Stay with me (Homelands remix)

Paul Van Dyk - Vega (Starecase Remix)
Max_Graham – Airtight
Amara – Pulse
etc...

Thanks in advance.

Yep. I have been looking for the Homelands remix that wasn't live, and I couldn't find it anywhere. You can easily find the version with the lyrics.

Here is my question.......

Are these MP3's,

Or do you own the vinyl and mix it??

A few of the vinyl are extrememly rare ehrmmm insigma... but i am not a believer in putting out CD's that are mixed from MP3. There is no challenge in that. 1200's (or 1210's) is where it is at, and if you can record a killer CD from that, props to you.

pffffff
So basically you're saying that collecting vinyls and showing off you've got the newest, rarest ones is more important that enjoying the music itself? :whip:

You are reading too far into it. When people make mix CD's it is generally for the purpose of promo. I am not a huge fan of the newest stuff anyway, i am stuck back in the 99-2000 era of trance.
When people mix with MP3's it can be as simple as pluggin in and hitting the mouse to line it all up. There is no fun/challenge in that. The fun is in the manipulation and the fact that you know you just recorded a ing great 70-80 minute set that you can call your own promo. That is all. I can really care less about the 'newest' and rarest. Leave that for the Professionals to spin.

pls no more flames! pls!

i dont see that it matters whether its vinyls, cds or mp3s!
personally i own decks and hopefully a cd deck in the near future, but it doesnt matter! its about the music and not showing off what equipment you used! so as long as the tracks are good then its cool cos i fell in love with trance songs and not how they are mixed!

*Disclaimer* i dont accept any responsabilty for my actions as they are not meant to be flames thank you! :toothless

I was under the impression he's mixing CD's (well burnt Mp3's), and I agree that live mixing is a lot more fun than PC mixing, and it's a lot more personal. Sorry if I misinterpreted your post, I'm just getting a little fed up with ppl making 1200's are the ONLY way to go remarks (I have CDJs Myself, so I hear that a lot :p )
